I've been diagnosed about 6 months with type 1. I have take metformin and insulin injections. I'm going to spain in a few days and wanted to know about protocols and what happens with travelling with the insulin needles in my hand luggage. Do I need proof of my diabetes from my doctor, and how do I go about getting the forms I would need?
thanks in advance!

You don't need forms but it is useful to have a letter from your doctor. Failing that a copy of your prescription.

I just take my prescription and never been stopped yet. Put all your supplies in your hand luggage in case suitcase goes missing.
