Hi @justaround2 , and welcome to the forum!
Sounds like a shocking journey so far. Seeing as it's only been 2 days, I'd be happy with levels between 150 and 208 for now, it takes time to find the treatment which works best, it's a marathon, not a sprint.
What insulin(s) are you on at the moment?
For now, I would try to keep notes on what you eat and at what time, and what your blood glucose is whenever you test.Thank you for you reply Its currently Levemir Flex Touch Pen Inj 3ml I take it at night before bed so once a day
about 5-6 times a day I just checked it and it was 194 actuallyFor now, I would try to keep notes on what you eat and at what time, and what your blood glucose is whenever you test.
How often do you test?
Hi. Can tell us something about your diet? Have you reduced the carbs to a low level?
Well my question is I recently got my C-Peptide test today and the number is normal 3.9 if my pancreas producing insulin normally then what is going on? I know only my doctor can tell me but would this mean I'm insulin resistance and a Type 2 diabetic or just insulin resistance?
That's tricky. A low cpeptide would suggest T1 and a high reading would suggest T2, but in between leaves you in a ccertain amount of limbo. I suspect if they do another one in a few months time then they will get a better idea as to your diabetes type.
Factors that suggest T1 : sudden onset and hospitalisation, relatively young age (though you can get T1 at any age it is slightly more common in younger people)
Factors that suggest T2 : overweight, any family history
They may also have done GAD tests: a positive one of these would definitely indicate T1.
I don't suppose you've had coronavirus? (There is some speculation that this is triggering some T1s, though I should stress that this is fairly speculative).
There are also other rare forms of diabetes which your specialist will know about. I think you may have to play a waiting game though, as that cpeptide test isn't desperately conclusive. (Though it would be helpful to know the units that it is measured in, as there are a number of different ones used for c-peptide, and obviously the measurememts will be completely different depending on the measurement system used).
No COVID-19 they test you before they admit you to the hospital now, they say they are also doing an antibody testing test im not sure what that is, the unit I think is
C-Peptide 3.6 ng/mL Standard Range 1.1 - 4.4 ng/mL
Sounds pretty good to me.I think so ill give an example of what I ate these two days. Yesterday I ate for breakfast 2 scrambled eggs 1 small turkey sausage, Lunch one Turkey sandwich with onions and tomatoes on it, For dinner I ate one piece of Lemon Pepper White Grilled Fish with a side of green beans
