Hello, Community Iam very confused on whats going on with my diagnoses right now even my doctors were confuse. Let me explain , for years my doctor has been checking my A1C its always been in the 4.0 range the highest it might of reached is 4.4 but it has stayed constant.
This year it was 4.3 but this month it has made a drastic change I was basically feeling horrible this month I have to admit I was consuming sodas and eating pretty excessively due to stress. I check my blood sugar in the past so I had a meter laying around I was urinating extremely back to back and my stomach was hurting I googled online that this might be a symptom of Diabetes so I checked my Glucose, the meter was reading H1 I wasn't sure what that meant so I checked it again it read 596 so I initially rushed to the Emergency room because when I checked online the information said that is a dangerous level. When I got their the doctors ran a Comprehensive Metabolic test on me and my Glucose 944 mg/dL very dangerous level I read that it coma level.
The doctors ran multiple test on me and found I was extremely dehydrated and told me it was because of the excessive urination because of my body trying to get rid of all of the sugar. They pumped me with fluids and insulin to bring down my Glucose it brought it down to 454 and then 208 they discharged me and place me on insulin they wasn't sure if I was Type 1 or Type 2 as of yet they said they were still running test the test they ran was C-Peptide I read this test is to determine if my pancreas producing insulin.
Well my question is I recently got my C-Peptide test today and the number is normal 3.6 if my pancreas producing insulin normally then what is going on? I know only my doctor can tell me but would this mean I'm insulin resistance and a Type 2 diabetic or just insulin resistance?
I have to admit I'm overweight and stop exercising over a couple of months. I'm home now and I have changed my diet and now eating 3 meals a day so far my reading are between 150 mg and sometimes 208 mg still not normal but its only been 2 days. Does my body need time to adjust to all of this or do I need to do more?
Iam just very confused right now and this has hit my drastically
