Hi all,
I have some questions surrounding my results which hopefully you can all help with.
Background:
With no prior knowledge of diabetes I went into DKA in August and was treated in hospital for a week. I was told I would be treated as type 1 until confirmation but that my results had not come back yet.
I had my first proper consultation today with my GP and finally got my blood results from the blood taken whilst I was in hospital (none have been taken since discharge):

She says that the results are in the normal range ie. don’t indicate diabetes. She did mention however that the HBA1C is high and should be around/below 40.
Since coming out of hospital I have been lowering my overnight and mealtime insulin and my sugars haven’t suffered.
I’ve had a fair few low readings around 4, my bloods general average at around 6 and I haven’t been above 10 in the last month. Essentially what I’m saying is, my bloods are in the ideal range.
What do you all make of this? I’m not changing my routine for now. Will carry on taking my same overnight dose and meal dose and treating myself as if I am a type 1. But the part about “normal levels not suggesting diabetes” has slightly thrown me.
