that's the old 12% and you do need to work on it, the dietician will tell you the NHS healthy plate, with 12% you are going to need more than metformin to eat itBeen to the dr's this morning and HBa1c levels are 102
From what I have read this is very high...
On an up sode I have had podiatrist and dietician appointments through.
How much in peoples experience do your HbA1 levels drop in 3 months...
Wow that is positive... that if I make thebright changes that could be me...
Well 2 hours after food was 15.3 having been 12.8 before.
Is this good or bad... Am I corrrect in thinking 2hours after should be a 2mmol increase?

What shall I eat for breakfast? Now I am making vegs soup. I really don't know how high sugar I have but this Friday I will see specialist nurse - first apptHi @Perryclare and welcome
You will probably get a much better response to your post if you start your own thread in the Newly Diagnosed part of the forum. @daisy1 will be able to give you lots of useful information then.
Both banana and weetabix are high in carbs so probably not the best diabetic choices.

Can I have bread with egg mushroom etc ?Hi Perryclare, welcome.
For a low carb breakfast the best options are eggs, cheese (actually you can have a full fry-up if you want - at least the bacon, egg, mushrooms and tomato) or some berry fruits (blueberries, blackberries, raspberries) with full fat Greek yoghurt.
There is a very good book called 'Carbs & Cals' which has loads of photos of foods and meals with carb, calorie, protein and fat values. Basically try and go for foods with less than 10 g carbohydrate (ignore the 'of which sugar' bit) per 100 g. This information is on the food labels on the supermarket shelves.
With veg soup avoid potatoes and other 'below ground' veg in general.
Hope this helps.
