Newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes I'm a bit worried n confused

To bring your blood-sugar down, you might inject further insulin.

But then again, if you have taken insulin already, you might simply go out for a brisk walk.

Though you might take a few jelly beans (or something) in your pocket, in case you should need them.

I'm not even sure what that means so I don't know .. It's still all new to me !! Thank you, yeah I'm sure it will just become a normal routine for me sooner or later

A correction dose is basically injecting more insulin to bring your blood glucose levels down, I would record all your bg readings and present them to your DSN so that they can advise on adjusting your insulin doses.

10.3 before breakfast is a bit high. If you are on a Basal/Bolus regime i.e. you have two insulins then discuss increasing the Basal a bit with the DN. Even if on a mixed insulin your DN may suggest a small increase if you provide her with some readings

I wouldn't make any changes at this early stage.

My consultant didn't want me below 10 in the first week. This was because a sudden drop could cause issues is retinopathy. Better to slowly reduce and dose as per doctors instructions at the moment
