Hi im liz. New diabetic 3months ago. Nervous and a bit afraid of it all. Weight, food, meds ect.

I am not surprised you feel nervous and afraid but the great Nes is that you have found this site. I was also nervous afraid and devastated when I was diagnosed- the amazing people here have made all the difference and will also be willing to help you.

If you can provide some more information then that will help people give you some guidance. The information that is most useful is what type of diabetes you have, your age, your symptoms, whether you are overweight or not- and don't be afraid of being judged- you won't get that here.

Hi and thank you for replying. I am type 2 and i take 3 metformin a day. Its all very scary right now and the food side is hard to understand. I think i have done good but worry im going to get ill if i eat something that is bad. Liz

Hi and welcome. Follow the advice you will find all round these forums and keep the carbs down. Make up with proteins, fats, veg and non-tropical fruit to keep you feeling full.
 
Thank you so much. I think i have read to many different sites and my doctor already told me to stick with diabetis uk.
 
I cant get back in as it says my e mail is not right. It is. Im sad
