It may have been an HbA1c test (which isn't normally fasting) or it may just have been an ordinary blood glucose test from the vein (fasting).
@this is too difficult Why do you keep asking if they get the results the same day? They won't use finger prick checks for diagnostic purposes.
I have a very short attention span and poor short term memory. It is the B12 defficiency apparentlyPlease ask for a print out. You need to know if you had an HbA1c test or not. This test is an average of the previous 2 to 3 months rather than just a snap shot of what your levels were at the time of the test.
I try to make sure in my messed up head before giving advice.It does sound like an HbA1c test. A 6.9% result in that test is very definitely diabetic.
