This might sound mega stupid but where do I put my empty insulin pens do they go it the needle box I'm unsure because I'm still on my frist set of insulin pens
If you have removed the needle, the pen can go in the usual rubbish.
I suggest asking about reusable pens. They create less rubbish and the cartridges take up less space in your fridge.
Welcome to the club nobody wants to join! Like the others said, needles in the sharps bin; pens in the regular rubbish. Reusable pens with cartridges are a good way to go, not just for environmental reasons, but because you can dose in half units, which means you can get finer control of things once you’ve got the hang of it.
This forum is great and has loads of information, but as 90% of diabetics are type two, it’s not always relevant to us - we have a great thread, https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/type-1stars-r-us.150597/ where it’s mostly T1s just talking about life, the universe and everything plus T1 management.
