Anyone got a link to this? I know it's down to CCG but surely there should be a national policy.

for Scotland anyway the general criteria is:

type one on MDI or pump, testing 8 or more times a day and type one on MDI or pump who are unaware of hypos......

but each board is different in that some of prescribing away and others are rolling out small, select groups....

My understanding is that CCGs are calling the shots, some are way ahead of the game by having guidelines in place very quickly after the November date when they became an item that could be prescribed.
This is an update for the Thames Valley from February which includes several CCGs (list is at top of document). https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/nice-freestyle-libre-guidelines.153951/. Being type II I don't even start to qualify, and talking to my GP having self funded is also not in my favour. Sort of saying if you can afford it you don't need it on prescription. I've had to pay for so much of my own care that I don't give a **** anymore. I've become a SYJIA sort of person.

I did see a more recent document in April which I can't now find that was instructing GPs to hold off for a while longer. My local Boots have told me that they are now filling prescriptions for them so things have moved but very slowly and it all depends on where you live. The only national policy is that they can be prescribed.

I'm still trying to get it on prescription although the team at the Royal Free consider me now as T1 and i would have to test 8-10 times the day.
I freestyle now since three month, according to my libre app the a1c is down to 6.7 from nearly 9.
