I dont know the age range of this forum (Im guessing its full of people of all ages) but does anyone like her?

Im going to see her in Manchester in 2 weeks!!!.. and I really cant wait!!

Can't say I've heard of her to be honest, what kind of music does she sing/play?
 
Shes a hip-hop artist, but her style is more MC rap influenced pop music, although her album tracks and a mix of dance, pop and the usual hip-hop style.

I think its quite rare to come across someone who hasnt heard of her just now. Shes basically the Lady Gaga of rap music.

My kids are into Rap music so they'll no doubt heard of her :)
 
Nicki Minaj does not make hip-hop... KRS-One, Big Daddy Kane, Gangstarr, Das-EFX, Mos Def, Jurassic 5 - these are hip-hop acts.

Nicki Minaj is pop music that steals hip-hop's style.

She's basically the Lada Gaga for people that refuse to like Lady Gaga because she's not "from the ghetto"...

if you really want to hear some proper hip-hop let me know - I'll gladly point you in theright direction.

Join the club Paul, I have never heard of her either. A positive though, I have heard of Lady Ga ga - is that really a positive, I wonder? :lol:
 
My kids know who she is!! I'm more of a 'Meatloaf' person myself... :lol:

Big Daddy Kane, Mos Def, etc.. ys they are hip=hop artists but there style hasnt moved on with the trends. Nicki Minaj is using the pop/dance music in her lead singles but there are good old-style hip-hop songs on her albums.

Saying Nicki isnt hip-hop is saying Missy Elliott, Lil Kim, Eminem, Flo Rida, etc. arent hip-hop either. These people are just moving with the trends to make the money...

well, except Missy, shes always done and is doing her own thing!
 
Kinda get where you're going, sb - but there's nothing hip-hop about Flo-Rida... (Saying that, he does make catchy pop tunes...)
