Night time rise

Now that i have the freestyle libre i found out that i don't have much of a dawn phenomena as i previously thought but my sugar rises about 1-1.5 hours into my sleep. It's like a straight line up and i've been stumped as to why or how to fix it. It doesn't seem to be food related since it doesn't mater how long ago i had my last meal, it's not on a fixed time after my last meal it's really about an hour after i'm sleeping (not going to bed, but literally about an hour after i'm actually sleeping).

I've raised my long lasting insulin to no avail, tried eating earlier but that didn't change anything, skipped my protein meal i usually have before bed but that didn't help either. During the weekend i stayed up later to around where my BS usually starts to rise during weekdays and my BS was fine and stable, went to sleep and in the morning i found out it was raised again. Haven't made any drastic changes in my diet or workout regime so i doubt i have to start looking there, but i'm open to all suggestions.

I've been thinking and thinking about this for days now and i remembered a couple of months back (didn't have the FSL back then) that i was taking medication for my back and it basically knocked me out for the night. During that time my morning BS was pretty good. I am a pretty bad sleeper, i often wake up in full adrenaline mode from some stressy event/thought. I wonder if i'm just stressed out which in turn causes me to sleep bad (even though i don't always know) and that in turn causes my BS to rise over night. But could stress and/or bad sleep really cause this?

I've always been on the somewhat higher side in the morning but usually - 200 mg/dl, right now i'm waking up with +300 mg/dl. It takes about 3 hours before my BS comes down to acceptable levels and then it stays there for the rest of the day.

Any ideas?

I have a pump so can program my basal to deal with things like that, so I can't offer a solution, but I can confirm that my BS goes up during the night when I'm stressed and/or sleeping badly. I found deep breathing before bed helped as did mindfulness and avoiding screens before bed.

What basal insulin are you on? It might help to split it.

I need 9 units of Levemir in the morning for the daytime but 11.5 at night. Even dropping my night-time dose to 11 is enough to cause a slow upward trend throughout the night.

Wanted to start reading again, think i'll pick it up to relax before going to bed again. Tonight was no different actually woke up in a it of a panicky state. Morning was high once again.

I'm on Toujeo, never tried splitting my long lasting. Not going to try it during a week day and i have a pretty busy weekend ahead. I'll see how things pan out this night, planning on waking up a bit earlier tomorrow. If everything goes as usual i should be a bit lower, maybe i'll eventually wake up around 5 A.M. then i should still be in an acceptable range.

I have same problem i always use pnandol night so i can go to sleep but don't know why my blood sugar rise at my sleep i don't know why
