Nightly Nibbles

1 heaped tsp cocoa (NOT drinking chocolate)
1 heaped ish tsp sugar substitute (I've been using xylitol, and just switched to erythritol)
Boiled water
Cream, pref double, to taste (or powdered coconut cream)

While kettle boils, mix cocoa and sugar sub together with a little water to form a smooth paste.
Add hot water, then a dash of cream.

All quantities variable, to taste.
You may be surprised how much sweetening you need. Makes me realise how much sugar there must be in Dairy Milk!

Ooh I will. I used mustard oil and salt today.....what other flavourings have you tried? I've bought 2 huge bags!

I've tried grated onion (small quantity) and Pataks curry paste
Grated cheese and horseradish (should have had the cheese powdered, not grated, cos it went rock hard!)
Garlic paste and Parmesan

I'm intending to try salt and balsamic vinegar too.

I usually use olive oil or rapeseed oil to 'massage' them, and it helps stick the flavour on.

The only failure I had was when I didn't use enough salt. Bleugh. Very bland.
 
As the clocks have gone back and longer dark evenings are here .
