Wow, the Admin/Admin team on here is super nice and diplomatic.

We, the users don't pay a single penny for the service, the community has grown and so things have slowed down, new servers aren't cheap, nor is hosting.

I've seen so many people on here openly admit the information on this site alone has allowed them a better quality in life, surely that is worth the slow loading times?

Oh no wait, I'm obviously wrong, that's not enough.

A lecture and sarcasm in one post? Nice.

I have been here for a while now, have got a fair few posts under my belt and I have said, repeatedly, that this is absolutely the best site of it's kind to be found anywhere on the internet.

There is no charge but that is the same for many other forums on the internet, remember a site is only as successful when it has enough members to keep it ticking over and if it weren't for the sheer amount of forum members and our input then DCUK as a business would not be doing half as well. If something is causing a problem then it should be looked into otherwise people will give up trying to use the site as it is meant to be used. If someone reports that there is a problem, especially when there are a good few people reporting the same thing then a reputable site would look into the problems and feed back on them.

I reported it, as did many others and I would have liked some feedback, however the main thing is that it was looked into and addressed, it is also pretty obvious that admin have no difficulty with what I wrote so there doesn't seem to be a problem there.

As for your little piece of sarcasm at the end of your post. You don't know me and you don't know why I do not have time to sit and wait for pages to load. Sometimes I have time but recently more often than not, I don't. Today is a good day because I do have time but more importantly the site seems to be functioning well. You can keep your petty comments for someone who needs them, I don't.

Today the site is working just fine for me, thanks for your help Giverny.

DCUK may offer the forum for free but they (and the parent company sitefinders) use what we post as their primary marketing tool and presumably a major revenue stream so taking note of their users concerns would appear to be a wise move. It would seem to be in their own interest to get things resolved as quickly as possible. To me the issue is no different than from phoning any other customer care line and being put on hold for minutes or hours. It effectively shows a lack of customer care.

DCUK isn't a charity like DUK. Presumably its runs using a classic internet advertising business model see http://www.sitefinders.co.uk/portfolio.html and not through dodgy donations from the likes of Kellogs.

Take no notice Angie, you don't have to explain yourself to anyone. (((Angie))).

Have a little think of the free services offered and how it helps so many newly diagnosed diabetics and existing diabetics, and may be then, reconsider your view.

Just remember, it's not the site doing that, it's experienced posters like ladybird who's been around two + years compared to your two + months.

You have a very naive view of who is scratching whose back here.

We don't pay to contribute, but DCUK does make money from our contributions (rightly so - this is a great forum), through advertising, that is predicated on lots of visitors and contributions. We help them, they help us.

No contributors = no visitor = no advertising revenue.

Glad to hear that!

I'm going to close this thread now, as I feel the issue has been (somewhat) resolved and the thread is becoming cluttered. If anyone else has any issues with site performance, please feel free to drop me a PM!
