My daughter has been feeling very tired and dropping off to sleep during the day and is feeling quite unwell. She went along to a Walk In Centre as she couldn't get an appt with her doctor. He tested her blood sugar and it was 1.3 after breakfast. Two hours later it was only 2.1 and after 4 hours it had risen to 7.5.
What are the normal ranges for blood sugar. I thought it was betwern 3 &6, is that correct?
My blood sugar ranges between about 8.6 to 10.6 so I dont have a problem with low blood sugar.
I would be grateful for anyone's info.

They are low readings, form someone who has suffered with hypoglycaemia, under 3.5 is now considered a hypo.

Please get her checked out again, by a doctor.
Didn't the walk in centre say or do anything?

Normal levels are between 3.8 & 7. Ur daughter seems to have very low sugar, may be ur medication dose incorrect. When u found 1.2 u have to correct it & check every 15 minutes till u get it normal. Y the wait for 2 hrs?

The Walk In Centre did test her with BM monitor at which time she was 1.3 but couldnt order tests, for that she had to go back to her own doctor. I believe she has gone to the hospital today to get them done. Thanks for your help.

She hasnt actually been diagnosed with diabetes yet and if at all. Apparently, according to one of the GP's I work for it could be that she is producing too much insulin, a rare condition care hypoglycaemia insulinoma could cause this and he said try and get her referred to an endocrinologist.

Thanks for your reply.
