Hi everyone,
I've not been diagnosed with diabetes, but I'm having some symptoms and I just wanted some advice as to whether it sounds like it could be diabetes, or some other issue.
Basically I have to eat every 3 hours or so - if I don't, I start by feeling hungry and getting a headache, then my hands (which always tremble a little) start shaking and get progressively worse, then the headache worsens, my face goes red and sweaty, I start feeling a bit weak, then I get really irritable. By this point I usually manage to eat something sugary and the problems start to subside - but if I don't then I often get a migraine and have to go lie in a dark room.
I also need to go to the toilet a lot - it's become a bit of a joke at work, but it's not really that funny!
I've managed to cope with this for around 6 years now, as previously the symptoms weren't too bad - but the past 6 months they've become a lot more noticeable - the headaches are worse, the trembling happens more often, and I'm going to the loo more and more.
I'm aware that this isn't normal, and my friend suggested diabetes, so I just wanted to see whether anyone recognises these symptoms, or thinks it could be something else? I've been hesitant in going to the doctor as I had a test done at the chemist about 3 years ago, and they said that whilst my reading was high it wasn't anything to worry about.
Any help/advice is much appreciated
