As much as I hate to say it, you might be right - though I hope you're not. I once worked in A&E for a few weeks and I noticed that when patients came in who could/should have been cared for by the GP, the GP did get an ear-bashing. but the patient also suffered with sub-standard care too. They tended to get fobbed off a bit.Personally I fear that the dsn will say 50% of plate to be carbs and eat carbs at every meal.
Ally please bear in mind there are so many people here that avoid bananas and fruit and have lower carb meals and good snacks if they need them and they have achieved better levels and better health. Some have had to go against the advice that dsn's gave them.
I think that you must ask what their reasons are for not changing your medication.
Something is still amiss here, You say A&E did a blood test and it was 30. Legally they have to do another blood test before discharging you, what was that result, what did they do in the A&E to lower your levels? What bg level did they release you at?
You must consider whether that doughnut and other foods you had ate, was a partial cause to raising your levels. I actually fear that you will be seen so regularly in A&E that you will not be taken seriously. (If that makes sense). It could be a case of "oh its a weekend again and oh Ally is here again, just check her blood, and send her on her way telling her to go to GP".
