Two weeks ago the doctor told me I was due for another blood test. I started to lower my carbs, which I know won't make much difference to today's results.
I had an early tai chi lesson this morning and had a rich tea biscuit - probably not the best thing but it is one of the only things that doesn't send my colostomy into overdrive. I walked down (about ¾ mile) and got ready. I went into the room and started the warm up exercises. I felt so lightheaded, out of breath and shaky. Luckily the lady I was supposed to be working 1 to 1 with wasn't there. My blood pressure when I got home was very low, for me. I know you can't give medical advice but could this be just the diet or perhaps I'm coming down with an illness. I'll talk to the nurse when I go for my blood test as well.

My guess is that you have some sort of virus. I, also, regularly practise Tai Chi. In my opinion Tai Chi, being such gentle exercise, will not make you light-headed.
As for the blood pressure, blood pressure readings can fluctuate. Therefore, I measure mine a couple of times a day, and keep records on spreadsheets. Often after exercise, like you walking home, can make it go low. Just see what the nurse says. Good luck.

Thank you for your reply. The nurse didn't say much ( I didn't really 3xpect her to) but at least she's now got the website for the tai chi class!

I was on two BP meds when I first started low carb eating. I very quickly didn’t need so much, so one was stopped and the other dose was halved. I adjusted the meds in consultation with my GP.

When I went low carb I had the same. I was on bp meds at the time, I dropped the bp med advised by gp and been fine since. I did experience some dizzy spells last week but I think it was due to sweeteners as I am fine since stopping them.

Thank you for your reply. I am seeing the doctor when my test results are back and will add it to my list of questions for her.

Thank you for your reply. This may be part of my problem and perhaps I'll be able to reduce the BP tablets.

Low carb will often reduce high blood pressure - and taking a medication to to the same thing at the same time will drop it right down - on various low carb lists I have read of numerous incidents and not a few accidents - one of them life changing, so do take action rather than waiting for permission.
