Well i have asked my friends on this already and they both say i am Paranoid. i dont know if i am.
Ok so a week ago i didnt know any of the signs of Diabetes but something odd was happening i always need a drink and etc etc.
so i came on here and looked up the signs and i have all but one. i told my friend and like i said she called me Paranoid.
i dont know if i am.
i dont want to waste my mums time taking me to the docs if i just am paranoid but the thing that gets me is that i have all the signs bar one.

so do you think i should tell my mum and see if i am or just leave it??

PS- you have to have a blood test right?? if so my other friend told me if u self harm it shows up on blood tests and thats bad cuz i have done. but anyway should i tell my mum or not?

I have no idea of your age but you must get this checked out.

If you have concerns about your health see your GP and discuss. The blood test is for diagnostic purposes for possibly dignosing Diabetes or not as the case may be and has no other use.

Hi!
You really do need to go to the GP. There's no point risking your life just because you don't want to waste your mum's time. I don't think your mum will mind, and you need to know.

As for the self harm thing, it'll only 'show up in a blood test' if you're self harming by taking drugs, but they're not testing for drugs, just glucose. If you're cutting your arms they'll obviously be able to see that when they take blood from your arm, but the only thing they can do about it is offer you counselling. Which might be helpful to you but you don't have to do it if you don't want to. I used to cut myself for about 15 years but no doctor or nurse ever mentioned it while they were taking blood and none of mt shrinks or social workers seemed bothered. So please don't let it prevent you getting tested for diabetes.

Good luck with it all :-)
