Good evening everyone
I have note about protein and type 2 this is my experience
It seems that whenever I eat a high-protein meal. Such as meat, eggs and fish. My blood sugar rises more than usual why ?

In my study of the problem I found that the protein needs a long time until the process of metabolism. So I decided to avoid any protein before 6 pm

Is there another explanation ?

If you eat low carb, your body gets the tiny amount of glucose it does require from protein in a process called gluconeogenesis in the liver. So your protein meal will cause a rise in blood sugars, over several hours. As a low carb type one, I take insulin for this, at half the amount I would for carbs, and over 2-4 hours on my pump, depending on the protein source.

Logical Analysis Thank you but I'm not on any medication what is solution ?

How much protein and carbs do you eat per day?. What is your body weight and what is your typical FBG.?
About 120 grams of fish my body weight is 62kg my FBG between 79mg/dl to 104/dl. 4.3mmol to 5.3mmol
2eggs every day about 30 carbs

Hi. It sounds like you are doing the right things. From your readings your BS is quite good. Protein will ause a small rise in BS. If your HBa1C goes too high then you may need some meds.

Hi nocarbs4me
I hope you are fine
Nothing just meet alone but I eat everything of course no sugar no pasta no bread etc...
Can you clarify - you eat meat alone or with something else? What do you mean "but I eat everything"?

What do you drink with your meals?

And how much does your blood glucose rise after eating meat alone?

So can you give an example with more details (i.e. when you ate some meat without anything else: what kind of meat, how much meat, what was your blood glucose rise 1 hr after, 2 hours after, how long before it was back to pre-meal levels)?
