I was thinking of most cafés and most restaurants. You are right, you have to think ahead!Such as ? When would low carb or reduced carb not be an option ?
I can always find something to eat that I can make low carb. Buger and chips.....hold the chips and add a veg, deconstruct the burger and dont eat the bread.
the only place I wouldn't eat is an italian.
Yes, salad dressings are a surprising source of carbs. I like the restaurants where you can get olive oil and vinegar - not balsamic! - and make your own.Yes, I used to think that a salad at Pizza Xpress would be ok, but found that, though very nice, it was also very high carb, because of tomatoes and something in the dressing probably.
As for burgers, removing the burger bun and chips and adding salad makes for a good and easy solution.
Great idea. Definitely going to do that.I carry a bag of brazil nuts in my handbag for emergencies. Like the other week when I forgot to take my lunch to work![]()
Exactly, it's not so much the food on offer, though that can be really really difficult : it's how to fit diabetes into what everyone else is doing. Low carb has to be the priority but sometimes it just isn't.My son, 8 today, wants to go to Pizza Hut for his birthday. Lovely, except er...what on earth can I eat there. A bit of the salad I suppose? Very tricky
