At the start of this year I was identified as having higher than normal fasting blood glucose levels, over the next few months and with the help of much daily testing I started on a low carb diet and began to get things under control. Since December my FBG levels would vary between 110 and 130, dietary control has managed to keep them under 118 most of the time and my 1 and 2 hour postprandial numbers were actually starting to look very respectable.
Last month I left the hot climate where I live and went back to the UK for ten days, it was of course extremly cold but we survived. Now back home about three weeks and all of a sudden my high(ish) blood glucose numbers have become low numbers, fasting is never over 108 and postprandial numbers are often in the 80's or 90's. I'm now to a point where I am eating bananas and buscuit a couple of times a day to ward off the sensation of feeling hypo''ísh!
So, before I run off to see Dr Endo I wonder if anyone can fill in some of the blanks for me, is this a normal situation for a type 2 person, high and then low blood glucsoe levels, I always thought it was one or the other?
