Hi Folks,
I was diagnosed with Type 2 in 2011, and put on the first drug (Metformin), did nothing for my BS, so over time they upped the doseage until I was on the Max daily allowance. Then on to Gliclazide and recently Sitagliptin, but again none of these did anything to bring the BS down. I knew this was not right and kept telling my GP...until recenlty he took more bloods, and Hospital rang yesterday to say I actually have Type 1, late onset version.
So from this morning I am on low initial doses of 2 Insulin pens....one 24 hours, the other with each main meal.
On the plus side I've been told that I should be able to sleep the night without visits to the loo...but on the negative, the weight I lost will go back on!
But for me, just feeling better and getting the BS under control is more improtant than weight!....I can get the finger out and train to get the weight under control if it does go up too much!
