Type 2
I have been type 2 for 35 years now 68. For the last two years my feet have become increasingly numb, getting worse as the day goes on. My GP sent me to a Podiatrist who's lame answer explained it was the nerve endings in my feet. Since then it has got worse and despite keeping to a healthy weight swimming twice a day EVERY day it has steadily got worse. My feet throb and feel as though I have had them in ice. Cant believe there is no further help for this condition, Ant advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ann
my sister is type 1 diabetic and has this problem it’s called diabetic neuropathy very painful hers has been caused by unstable BG levels over a long time and blocked arteries so the bloodstream doesn’t flow very well too her feet.
Do take care of your feet and perhaps ask your GP if you have neuropathy and how you can get help with this. Wishing you all the best K

Hi and welcome to the forums. I had some painful neuropathy in my feet a few years ago but that has almost completely gone away. I think that was a direct result of getting my blood glucose down and keeping it down. Do you know what your current blood glucose is?
