I have found a hand held shower and hot and cold water used alongside massage to get the blood flowing helped a lot.
When I reacted badly to the AZ Covid jab - I thought it had done for me at one point, and my legs and feet were very swollen I was massaging my legs up to four times a day. When the swelling began to go down it was a great relief.
Since then I have had several run ins with cellulitis and incredibly painful feet, and odd sensation changes and found that massage helped there. These days I rub my toes with an antiseptic cream before and after cutting my toe nails just to try to avoid further incidents.
Despite all they've been through my feet are in good shape and sensation is normal, strong pulses when the nurse checked which is distinctly reassuring.

Hi paul

There's a few possible causes of numb toes and I'd keep pushing for a proper medic appointment.

Be very careful with hot water on numb parts of your feet. You won't feel the heat but it can still cause serious burns and infections.

Our shower has a safety feature which allows the maximum temperature to be set and you can then only turn the lever from totally cold up to that point - I think most modern showers have that - or they ought to have. It is separate from the flow control.

My shower doesn't have that feature, and the thread title is 'numb toes'. I thought it worth to add in a warning to not trust numb toes to feel if the water is too hot.
