Type 1 Numbers/levels

What units would you injection if your blood sugars came up (hi) on test
The amount of insulin we need is highly personal. Some of us only need 6 units a day, others need 600 units a day.

Knowing what any of us would take wouldn't help you at all.

What kind of instructions have you had from your diabetes nurse or doctor?
Are you seeing such high numbers regularly or is it a one-off?
How do you usually decide how much insulin to take?

Hi Jason, there is no magic number. As already stated, it's all based on personal circumstances. Do you have any idea how much 1 unit of insulin lowers you by?

I would test for ketones if my levels came up HI. But I would also wash my hands and retest to rule out a testing error.

Hi @Jason91 ,

I appreciate you where having issues last night with BGs.
We can't give dosing advice on the forum.
Test your BGs again & if you haven't done so already, phone NHS 111.
A trained advisor can help & even send assistance.

Best wishes.
