Numbness in hands

I'm recently diagnosed. My numbers have settled and I'm about 80% in range with no major lows. I'm struggling with numbness in my hands especially my right. Wakes me several times a night and is noticeable when I'm driving. I've mentioned it to the DN but she didn't seem concerned. It does seem to be getting worse. Any ideas on how I can improve it? Thinking a visit to the GP is required.
 
It’s all too easy to blame our diabetes for anything and everything. We aren’t allowed to diagnose but I had carpal tunnel syndrome some years ago and it caused numbness particularly at night. The numbness was only in the thumb, index finger, middle finger and the side of the ring finger. Definitely worth a visit to your GP.
 
My own numbness in hand and fingers was attributed to neck injury, and arthritic spine, but that was just me. Could be any number of reasons, and we can’t diagnose. SoI would agree, get it checked out by GP.
 
It could be anything, I agree that it's easy to blame things on diabetes so worth consulting a doctor. A condition that's under diagnosed though and can present with the symptoms you describe is treatment induced neuropathy. It can happen when blood sugar levels drop quickly within a few months, I got it after my type 1 diagnosis and it woke me up in excruciating pain on many nights. In my case, it went away after a few weeks but it was far from fun. I hope you feel better soon, there's a lot to take in when you're newly diagnosed so keep in mind that things get easier with time.

I have a similar situation. My numbers are pretty good now and weren’t terrible before I got my new pump, but I have increased numbness in my hands that wakes me up at night. Haven’t had it in the day time. Didn’t have it last night.

It had stopped for several months, then returned when my numbers went down further. Also, had slight numbness in feet. It fluctuates. My neurologist ordered MRI, EMG and blood tests, and said it wasn’t neuropathy.

I had B12 deficiency right before it started but injections got that up. I also got post covid syndrome before it started. Anyway, I‘m not sure what to do. I have already seen my primary, endo and neurologist. Maybe, I need another opinion. I’m focusing on keeping BG as close to 100 as possible. I’m type I for over 20 years. No kidney or eye issues to date. I eat right, work out daily and monitor BG very closely with Medtronic 780g.
 
Sounds like it could be Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (nerves get compressed in the wrist) which can cause issues like this.

Diabetics are more likely to suffer with this than the general population (but can happen to anyone)

Had both mine done (about 5 years apart)

GP trip is the start to identify if its that and what the options are.
