Type 2 Diabetic. Have to go to work from Saturday onwards. Have kept myself indoors and away from people as initial advice said diabetes was an at risk group. This health condition does not apear on the list to stay indoors and isolate. Thats fine, however Im a nursing auxilliary in a hospital and will be at high risk of coming into contact with people not only diagnosed with covid19 but also people not yet diagnosed. Advice please as unable still to speak to a doctor. Kind Regards, Damon
Damon, I think that our current reality is that going outdoors, even in the currently permissible ways is a risk. Yesterday out walking, I encountered a young.mum (from the other side of the road!), but for all I know they could have been carriers, with her baby in a pushchair. To all intents and purposes they looked the picture of health, but who knows?
All I will say is, I have one family member is hospital at the current time, who needs a stem cell transplant, pretty pronto, and another just discharged yesterday who had been gravely ill, on life support for a few days, followed by a period in ITU, having had extreme (tested corona negative) respiratory challenges.
From every single one of our family, I thank you, and everyone else in the NHS who is keeping those vital wheels turning, for those who need it most.
I appreciate it doesn't feel good for you to be in this predicament.
