I have been having a lot of hypos/ lower levels over the last 2 weeks despite carb counting/ using the same levels of background insulin and not doing anything out of the ordinary in terms of exercise or eating. Before xmas I had a 2 week period where I was higher than usual and needed more long acting- I put this down to having a coldand am nw down to my usual doses again. im just wondering whether anyone else has experienced periods of increased/decreeased insulin senstitivity or has any idea what could be causing this? I have done DAFNE so have understanding of what insulins to reduce to stop it but am just curious for ideas as to why I seem to need a lot less insulin some weeks.

Although I don't know the scientific reasoning behind it, varying insulin requirements are very common ! Diabetes is a dynamic condition, keeps us on our toes lol !
