Oh dear, lack of faith in the system sometimes

Some of the best Doctors in LC had a patient experience, asked them what they did, and then have gone on to treat and change the lives of 1000's of others. Imagine the ripple effect that has had on families.

Doctors, diabetic nurses and the like who can't be ....to be intrigued miss opportunities to save lives or alleviate misery.
It's not just the medics. I've had an experience last week with an insurance company "specializing in insurance for diabetics" which went like this:
Me - "diagnosed T2 in 2019, but in normal range now, A1c 37. and if things continue will be officially in remission next month"
Him - "how did they do that?"
Me - "they didn't do anything"
Him - "so you're on insulin?"
Me - "No"
Him - "metformin then"
Me- "no, just diet"
Him - "you can't do that you must be on some drug"
Me - "No, just low carb"
Him - "No, that doesn't work. And you've got neuropathy, so you must be on a drug."
Me -".......had neuropathy. And still no",

Guess who's not getting my business?

I remember the day I went to see a Doctor at the walk in centre. All classical symptoms of diabetes I had been feeling tired for weeks, eye sight getting very poor and couldn't stop going to the toilet and drinking constantly. I wasn't diagnosed at this point and knew nothing about diabetes at the time.

Doctor checked my fasting blood sugars and they were high. It was Friday morning and she requested me to return to see her on Monday. Thankfully my partner was with me and being a nurse he was concerned with my symptoms so I brought myself a blood glucose machine straight away. Got home and regulary checking my blood sugars. By the evening it was 28 mmols. Called 111 and the staff told me to go straight to A&E. I was in hospital for 2 nights where I was diagnosed type 1 diabetic.
