I just wanted to shout about my diabetes epiphany. After 20 yrs of T1 I started pump therapy a few weeks ago. Everyone here encouraged me and advised me of the hard work to come. Its been really hard work. I started by trying to nail my basal doses....that was such a hoo hah! But with time, solutions started to emerge. Now I'm on bolus doses and it's shocking to learn how off I was with my ratios, purely because my basal doses were wrong. I would never have had this insight whilst still taking injections. Feeling hopeful, thankful and for the first time, like life is going to be great!

@Poosecat I'm so delighted for you!

I've had my pump for just over 2 years and it has changed my life immeasurably.

Life's not perfect, don't get me wrong - but the difference pumping has made to me is staggering.

Enjoy the ride!
:)

The difference between daily injections and pump therapy was like night and day for me. It's not perfect but it's as near as you can currently get without a functioning pancreas :)
