Ok now im totally confused blood suagar madness

my readings in over 150 tests have not gone over 6.5mmol on my accu check metre my fasting home tests are usually 4.9mmol

although i have little faith in the medical profession, i think there is a number where you either are or are not

  • 6% (below 42 mmol/mol) is considered non-diabetic
  • 6-6.4% (42 to 47 mmol/mol) indicates impaired fasting glucose regulation and is considered prediabetes
  • 6.5% or more (48 mmol/mol and above) indicates the presence of type 2 diabetes

this is from DUK what was you told?

i was 6.8 hba1c but that was during a year of sugar binge. but sine then i have had hardly any

im not sure mate, but you can see why you were diagnosed, although close to the line, you was over it. maybe you dont have to have very strict diet to control it, maybe just try to eat healthier and youll be fine, think of it as a warning maybe and test occasionally, ill swop ya :)

as i believe it to be, if you didnt have it, you would not be over the line, i think non diabetics can eat all that sugar and still be below it but im not sure as i wasnt close to the line lol, i was 12.6 if i remember right

thats what my partner says, he says before you wad diagnosed you were eating stupid amounts of sugar every day and then they teested me out of the blue and i have hight sugar in my blood. but now i stopped it its gone back to normal. i supose i should ask my doc but he seems pleased that i am type 2. wish i could go get a test else where

you can! lloyds pharmacy will do a hba1c but that costs about £30 i think, but if youve cut your sugar and carbs that wouldnt prove anything, there are other tests but not sure where to get them if the doc wont do it

i mean i presume that the aim of the game is to get your HBA1c level down to normal. they tested me 1 week at 6.9 then the next week at 6.8 that was 6 weeks ago tho not been tested since

i think go back to your gp and insist he does more tests i think theres one called a glucose tolerance test that they can do, you can do one yourself, ive read about it, it involves fasting then drinking a set amount of lucozade then following some other steps, ill try and find it for you but best to ask the doc me thinks

i had one of those but was never told the reults

i sent you a pm with the site with the home ogtt, i did that because im not sure im allowed to put it here, hope that helps

you can get the results from your doctors receptionist, the results are yours, you can have them at any time, they cannot deny them to you, regardless of if they want to or not there yours, this applies to any tests

if i can get it from the trolls that work there. lol that would be a first

lol, mine just ignore you, you can stand there for 10 minutes and they wont even acknowledge you, they seem to feel like they have some power because lots of people visiting the doc are vunerable so they feel superior, i dunno what it is (im sure not all are bad)

mine were quite happy to give me the results of my Hb1ac - it's fine but needs to be redone in 3 months., what they didn't tell me was that my Hb1ac was 46 and when I saw the GP 3 months later I had been eating my normal bad diet:(

There see to many ways to test the blood why not just have one standard grrr all this conversion rubbish

normal story, its awesome you had the sense to research this yourself and even better youve the sense to fix things before its too late, good job :)
