Old test strip containers what would the wombles do?

i have a few genuine gemstone beads, waiting to be made into jewellery. If only my cannisters were trqansparent!
However. I do put spare tablets in them when travelling. I'm now offering them to primary school teacher daughter.

My last school collected my test strip containers and asked for donated film strip containers and similar. They would use them to hold the chemicals when the students built their own volcanos in geography. They don't do it now but it was a good way to re-use them.

I'm sure schools and playgroups/nurseries would take them for arts and crafts stuff.

Hana, I think that your daughter teaches very young children. Please remember that there is often a desiccant somewhere in them, sometimes in the lid, sometimes in the lining. I have no idea what is used or whether it is toxic or not (you could ask) but it might be something that she doesn't want to take the risk with.

I would imagine your ferret comes in handy when you run out of lancets!

Another ferret owner I see.

No ... quite like them but don't own one. I understand when they get hold they don't let go ... but like 'er indoors!

They get a bad press. You can make them let go. Blocking their nostrils, puffing in their face, forcing jaws apart etc. I had one that just latched on to somewhere else very quickly though. She only liked me and no-one else.

The best bit is that if you have a sign up saying "n people bitten so far" it stops the visitors from going, "Oh coo, a lovely little furry thing to play with".

The current ferret has spread the diversionary pots all over the place this morning.

I found a new use for my old test strip containers yesterday. I recently bought a carpet cleaner and the fluid has to be mixed 40ml. to 1ltr of water. I didn't like the idea of using anything from the kitchen to do the measuring since the fluid comes with warnings attached.

I wondered how much fluid the test strip container would hold so I filled it with water and tipped it into a small set of kitchen scales. It weighed 20gms so means it was 20 ml.

So two of them to one litre of water.

The carpet isn't much cleaner but at least I can mix the fluid now.

I put used lancets in pots until I can put them in my grandma's sharps bin as I don't get one

Put bits of cheese in as rewards when training my cat. (he goes out on the leash and does dog tricks)

Put small beads and sewing needles in

They make fantastic smell-proof pots to put weed in. Appropriate, seeing as I use it as medication
