OMG!!! I can hardly believe it!

rowan, I've documented on here several times how my bloods came into line when I got my diet (and exercise) into shape. I didn't experience a slow, downward slope on my graph, but more a level line, then notches downwards. It was almost like my body fought and fought to maintain the higher levels, then gave in, "picking" a new lower level, and restarting that exercise. I think others found this too.

If that's the case, take heart from a renewed stable state, it could just be your body getting ready to "give in" to a new lower you.

Hopefully your fasting levels will react in the same way. If you have made significant progress when you go back in a few weeks, I'm positive your HCPs will be less inclined to go down the insulin route.

Thank you, yes, I think that's happening to me too and it makes sense, there's a lot of changes for the body to get used to.
Both my BG and my weight stay the same for a week or so then just when I'm getting disheartened they drop down for another week or so and all the enthusiasm comes back ;)

But as long as it's all on a downward trend that's ok with me :)

It seems that the low reading was a fluke, it's back up to between 7 and 14 again. Tuesday, the day after the 5.6 I didn't go below 10, and I had almost the same to eat as the day before!
Woke this morning and it was 10.something, I had a 3 egg omelette cooked in butter and a cup of green tea and 1 hour later it was 13.4!

Thank you. I will, eventually! When I put my mind to something I'm usually unstoppable so this isn't going to beat me, it's just going to take a bit longer than I expected!
Hi rown , great to,hear from you , you are always positive , this balancing act is not always so easy ...when is your surgery can't remember ...
Stay unstoppable ......best foot forward as they say .....tc ...kat

I have to stay positive, I suffer deep depressions if I stop fighting. I've nearly died 4 times through illness over the last 10 years and have been suicidal at other times (because of the excrutiating pain) but I'm convinced staying positive is helping. I can recognise the signs of impending depression but living where I do it's easy to get out onto the Moor with my dog which always helps, he's my life saver ;)
Surgery will be later in the summer unless it turns urgent again, I posted about it here http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/needing-more-surgery.72637/
