I went out for a snack lunch with my daughter and grandson today, to a place we go quite often. I had my usual tuna mayo and red onion sandwich, (2 slices of granary bread). I tested 2 hours after expecting it to be high, maybe even 9's. OMG it was 12.1. I was so taken aback I tested again in a different finger. Same result. It was still 11.4 after 2 and a half hours. I can cope with one slice of Hovis granary quite easily. This wasn't Hovis, it was a lighter brown in colour and didn't seem to have as many seeds in it, although advertised on the menu as granary. I am also now wondering what sort of mayo they use. The menu didn't specify light mayo, although I know all their milk is semi skimmed for tea and coffees and doesn't say so anywhere. I shall not be having that again. Strangely enough I didn't feel ill at all. I have never had a reading like that, and it has ******** up my averages! We live and learn.
