could you elaborate on that please?I’ve heard that hospitals are offering it, despite NICE not having approved it; or at least not made an official announcement yet. Suggests to me that diabetes teams know the outcome of NICE’s recommendations.
Thanks Hopeful34 there are so many mentioned had no idea where to start. Most helpful xI don't know for your area, but if I was in your position I'd research tandem slim x2 and medtronic 780g, as these seem to be the ones that are mentioned most often in addition to the Omnipod.
I'm not saying you will have that choice, but at least you'd have the info if you are.
Were you offered your choice of pump at your review?I have a pump review next week. They have given me no info on alternative pumps/ upgrades despite phoning and waiting years for a review. Told they would make me a follow up appointment if 1 not enough.
Just would have liked to know any options. Currently user of Omnipod Dash and Libre 2 . Hoping to get some info on here.
I am just waiting for the Omnipod 5 being delivered to my clinic. Then going into be trained on how to use itHello
Has anyone been offered the opportunity to begin using the Omnipod 5 pump in England next week?
Hi @13h ,hi
spoke to diabetic team in dec 23 asked about this omnipod , said that they not doing it and a pump is more compilcated and takes long time to sort out . Asked about any courses for type 1 , diverted to saying will put in me in a course on "carb counting " general for all diabetics , so my region still not offering NHS "dafne" course for type 1.
I did some private expensive treatment in mumbai xmas time, was an experience !, but will see how effective in 2-3 months. At the moment im having to take less than a quarter of my insulins . I'll post more info on stemcell treatment abroad thread.
If any Adult has recieved the omnipod device from gp nhs please post.
