On LCHF from yesterday but still high

So, where has he said he is doing zero carbs ? Surely if you want to quote something, make it relevant.
If you look at his post he said he does not eat any carbs I would think that means zero
 
This is interesting as I have not heard of anyone else here doing zero carbs Is this just what you are doing for a while or is it going to be your forever diet I always understood that we need fibre for good intestinal transit. Do you eat dairy stuff

I am eating zero carb. Just meat, eggs, occasional cheese. I plan to eat this way for the rest of my life. Fibre just messes up the digestive process.
 
I am quite impatient that's right.
Somehow i thought that eating very low carb for 2 days will immediately bring the sugar level down within the normal limits.

If only things were that simple! We'd all be a lot better off if we could just low carb a few days a week and immediately see results but it's sadly not the case. I think you've had some excellent advice here and deciding to test all foods will give you much more personalised info on what you can / can't tolerate. For example, I can have a couple of baby new potatoes but one spoonful of rice sends my BG soaring.

Here is two days worth of data.

Yesterday
8.20 before breakfast 11.3mmol/l
11.15---9.7mmol/L
13.20---6.7 after 40 min brisk walking and 25 min weight training
16.16---8.2mmol/l 2 hours after lunch
22.19----8.1 mmol
Today:
11:14---9.8mmol before i had anything to eat
12.34----8.1mmol/l still nothing to eat
15..05---8.9mmol/l2 hours after lunch
17.06---6.6mmmol/l this is after 30 min brisk walking and 25 min weight training.
18.46---6.3mmol/l

It looks like exercise does wonders.

I'm intrigued by this. If I become convinced that a plant free diet is healthy for me, I'd consider trying it. I have been diagnosed with slow colonic transit, which means I need extra fibre or my bowels seem to shut down completely. I'm sorry if this is too personal, but how can the bowels do their thing when the contents are all protein and fat? Wouldn't things get backed up?

Then how are you going to get an all round viramin n mineral intake?

Crikey, there's a few of us that have chronic stomach n bowel problems and the most important thing is a balanced nutrition....have a look at @annalaena gastroparesis thread before you restrict so much.

We compensate with things such as flax seed and flax oil..chia seeds etc.

Yes exercise does wonders indeed (although sometimes if you exercise too hard you might see the numbers immediately afterwards going up a bit... so don't freak out if it happens!)

Exercise together with a change in eating style and you are already in the 6's! Keep it up and don't forget to note what you are eating to see what produces changes and what doesn't!

My digestion and elimination are working perfectly. Actually, much better than when I ate plants. Fibre can really mess up the human digestive system.

I get the necessary vitamins and minerals from fresh meat, eggs, and water. I get vitamin D3 from the sun. What do you think I'm missing? I had bowel issues for almost 20 years that went away when I stopped eating plants.

I believe you, and I'm not saying what you are doing is wrong or anything - each to their own. I'm just trying to understand for myself, whether this approach is something I could try. In what way does fibre mess up the system?

That is pretty amazing and if it works for you then that is all that matters as we all personally have to find the way that works best for us. I don't think a no carbs diet is widely known here so maybe a thread about it on the forum would be a good. You say it has helped your bowel issues so maybe it could for others with the same problems

You have piqued my curiosity now.

Forgive me, because I'm posting this without spending much time thinking it through, but do you find the number of sauces and accompaniments you can have to be restrictive at all?

I'm a reduced carber, but I do love my veggies, so I imagine I might really miss them, but nevertheless, I try to keep an open mind.

Zero carb is fairly simple: don't eat or drink anything made from plants. The exception's are spices is small amounts and tea or coffee and distilled spirits. So eggs are ok. Dairy is generally not consumed, but some cheese is ok if you tolerate it. No milk, yogurt, cream, etc. Some people like a to eat a wide variety of meat, but I pretty much eat beef, mostly excellent quality ribeye steaks cooked on my barbecue to medium-rare or rare. I usually have bacon and eggs for breakfast. I drink water, black coffee and Irish whiskey.

Fortunately I live by myself. Eating out with friends can be a challenge. I prefer to go to Brazilian barbecue when I do go out. Or a steakhouse. But I can also skip meals very easily if I'm out and about and there's no meat available.

Interesting as my stomach with SCT works ok with green veg and certain veg so long as I have flax seed.

Even the Atkins diets is concerned to consider and recommend certain veg for the antioxidant protection- the highest protection coming from garlic and kale, spinach, 1 tablespoon onion and green beans.

For me the antioxidants from veg are well worth the flaxseed.
Same with the blue, black and strawberries.

I also believe in the power of tomatoes and their lycopene eaten with olive oil for best absorption by our bodies.

Interesting that veg causes you stomach issues. Proves how different we all are. If that works for you thats good. I prefer to have some antioxidants and kycopene in my diet too despite having to take flaxseed for my bowels to cope..
