I wanted to ask if anyone is experiencing the same issue I have. I'm sure there are a few and how to deal with it. I'm talking about the itching. It's driving me round the bend. Has anyone found anything to help or relief from it?

Any help greatlully received.

Andy

If the itching is where I think it is, it's a fairly common thing with diabetic men. You get infections there, and lower blood sugars is the key way to deal with it. Temporarily, a bit of Savlon helps!

I did suffer that particular embarrassment at one time although that now seems like yonks ago, as I have since taken up the use of Cuticura medicated talc after my bath each morning... just a light dusting after a gentle toweling.

Hi Andy,

Not had this itching before but can imagine it will be driving you mad, try asking your pharmacist for something suitable or ask gp who will prescribe a cream/talc on prescription.

I often get an itch when my sugars are high. I originally tried Canestan which worked eventually however I discussed it with my doctor and she prescribed Clotrimazole which is basically Canestan with a steroid added. It works for me within hours.

Hi fellas!

Sorry to gatecrash your chat, but if the itching is caused by a fungal infection (which is very common in diabetes), Cannestan cream should do the trick. We ladies are often plagued by thrush if our BG gets too high for too long and Cannestan is always used for that - it can be used by men aswell.

All very common with Diabetes and fluctuating blood sugars..no major deal. Get some Cannestan..and if you have high BG try to lower it some..Antibiotics cause it too, also being run down in general in Winter months sometimes.
