I visited my doctor last Thursday, for my diabetic review. While I was there, I had my flu shot, and discussed some blood test results. My gp was pleased as my hbac came back on 49, and everything seemed normal. I had my flu shot, and discussed some blood work that I had done. one of the tests, was to check to see whether I was going through the perimenopause. I have missed a couple of periods, and wanted to see if this was why. Nothing showed up on the results, but my doctor said this is normal at my age (48).
Since then I have been having high readings in the afternoon, I am wondering if the flu shot, or the perimenopause is too blame? I have also noticed that I am quite thirsty at night, my readings seem quite stable in the morning, but will creep up to 15.4 two hours later. I am a type one on a insulin pump, so am very careful about carb counting. I also have a terrible meter that my gp gave me, as the test strips are cheaper. It is awful, and will quite often give me three different results. I don't trust it at all. I have an appointment next Wednesday to see my consultant, but just wondering if anyone could offer some advice. Feeling very fed up at the moment, any support will be much appreciated.
