One Year On - Have Hope

Been a long time since I visited the forum mostly down to life and the fact my Journey reached a stable point and I have been living a somewhat normal life since.

So I was Diagnosed T2 In Nov 20 With my HB1AC Being 42 June/Oct, then two Tests at 54 in November.

I started a LCHF diet plan and cut out the Booze.

It took a while to adjust to my new way of eating, mostly the time consuming prep and craving for foods I had eaten all my Life.

My next set of Blood work was done in Feb and HB1AC Came back at 38 and a 22kg Weight loss at this point.

The Huge drop was a surprise in the short time frame of 7 weeks.

My next Test was May and HB1AC Came back at 31 with a weight of 100KG.

So a year in and my blood work is normal, I still eat a HCLF diet and I average around 20-60G Carbs a day.

For me it's the type of carbs I eat that have the biggest changes/effects.

I am using Intermittent Fasting of between 15-18 hours 5 days a week

The other two days 12 Hour fast.

Fasting 76-84
Pre - 92-96
Post 92 - 104

Current weight 95KG having sat stable for the last 4-6 months and adapted to my new diet, I am now on the next weight loss trip all the way down to 78KG.

So for those who visit and are just starting on the Journey take my story and see what you can achieve in a very short space of time.

I was fortunate, my diagnosis was within 2-3 months of my Blood Sugars becoming elevated to Diabetic levels.

So there you have it some good news in this crazy world we live in :)

If anyone has any questions I am happy to answer :)

I agree, and the impact could be seismic on the food and drink industry, when both diabetics & non diabetics are all CGMing round the clock. Who’s going to be wanting Mr Kellogg’s cereals or Ronald McDonald’s fries when they see their blood sugar shooting up north of 10.0 mmol/L afterwards, and we know this happens for both diabetics and non diabetics.
The vision of the supermarkets of the future : meat and fish aisles tripled, fresh veg aisles tripled. Dailry and cheese tripled.
Sweets, biscuits cakes removed, except for one small corner guarded by keycode entry with access to consenting informed adults only. No soft drink aisles, no bread aisles. No cereal aisles

What will they fill the space with?
Or will they just reduce floorspace as there's not enough profit in fresh foods alone.

HFLC.....my dyslexia does not pair itself well to that error haha. Apologies

Well done! Those are brilliant results. May I ask if you drink alcohol at all? I’m reading conflicting info about this generally. Thanks
I have a couple of glasses of wine and a few gins over the month, No Beer and no sugary mixers :)
