Oppo ice cream

I have corresponded with the guys at Oppo. They are not trying to produce low carb ice cream, just low calorie (low fat). Nor do they have plans to produce low carb ice cream. So it's off my list.

But their ice cream is pretty low carb... so what if it is unintentional?
There's another I have tried called Frill.. the intense chocolate has 8.5g of carbs per 100ml seems fine to my body too.

6.2g of carbs for 100ml of the Oppo Madagascan vanilla against 21.3g carbs for 100ml of Tesco standard vanilla. I think the guys at Oppo have already produced low carb ice cream!! It’s staying on my list! :hungry:

No - they use stevia and erythritol. Stevia - aka sweet leaf - is is definitely natural and is derived (as per its common name) from a plant leaf. Erythritol also occurs naturally in various plants and fruits, as opposed to being artificially produced. As it goes through 40 manufacturing processes between leaf and end product I think I will give it a miss.
 
This is very expensive at £4 a pot. I love Icecream however being a pensioner on a basic state pension I will have to remain Icecream free

I’ve never paid full price for it. If you go to the website and register for their emails you’ll get a £1 off voucher. I’ve had other vouchers emailed since and both Waitrose and Sainsburys have had it on offer from time to time. Hope that helps :)

Sorry, but I have a rule of not eating stuff over 5g of carb/100g. It is so easy to give in to temptation, which I did in Florida recently and had one ice cream a day for 3 weeks. Result - plus 5kg. Otherwise, no bread, root veg, pasta, rice etc which is difficult on holiday.

The local Asda seems to have it on offer in-store at £3 all the time. They usually carry the mint, salted caramel and choc ones but I've never seen the vanilla either there or in Waitrose which is a shame. I find I can only eat a small portion, unlike others i.e. @walnut_face ;), because it's quite sweet, so a tub does last. Sort of.... £3 is still expensive but I hope you could treat yourself once in a while and satisfy the love!

Our local Sainsbury's doesn't stock it ( we live in a true no horse town), but ASDA does. The voucher codes aren't taken in. ASDA. to be fair, if one reads the voucher, ASDA are not listed on the retailer list. I did email Opppo for confirmation.

Just a heads-up really.
 
Was only the once @Sue192 I have always paid £4.99 for it, so only ever an occasional treat. I seem to remember @KevinPotts hoovering up the nations stock a year or so ago

I’ve only used one voucher which was at Holland and Barrett, but now just watch for offers at the supermarkets.

I must admit I have a similar 5% rule but make an exception for Oppo or similar as a couple of days a week special if I have room for it in my 20g carbs per day limit. Just think the stuff you were eating in Florida was probably 25-30% carbs and thinking of US portion sizes could well have been 100g of carbs in a serving.
 
My 5% rule is:
If under 5% carb eat as much as I like, otherwise count the carbs and don't go over 10g of carbs from the special item.​
