Sid, I generally agree with your points and thanks for the McKenna info. Yes, I agree I was generalising and I know it's lot more complex than my simplistic grouping. I guess I always try to make a stand for that T2 20% who don't fit the 'overweight' norm. I suffered my old diabetes GP just assuming I was a typical T2 (his diagnosis with a urine stick!) 'cos I wasn't a T1 was I and saying I should continue to lose weight when I was stick thin. It's possible I was to some extent insulin resistant thru hidden fat, but that's just an assumption one could make and tests and observations are more valuable then assumptions. In my case I suddenly lost 1/2 stone from 10.5 stone just prior to diagnosis for no reason e.g. a bit like LADA so I was hopefully losing any spare visceral fat. As we always say, we are all different and must avoid generalisations.
