Ozempic. What is too low for daily total insulin?

I started the low dose of ozempic 5 days ago. I'm on novorapid in my accucheck insight pump and metformin for years. I am insulin resistant and have gained weight over the years. I have tried numerous times low carb and no carb lifestyles. Nothing has worked, in fact if anything it's made some things more complicated because one of my previous drs couldn't understand why I still had to take a bolus for just a green salad. Suffice to say I've worked hard and not got very far. Met a new dr recently who saw on my own notes I took with me that I'd listed a couple of new suggestions and she said ok but I have the newer version. Ozempic. I started apple cider viniger ( because of apparent connections with it being helpful for blood sugar levels)......a week before ozempic. I didn't know how long it would take to get my new meds ordered in.
Well I am shocked..... this has been the most profoundly positive change I have ever had in over 30 years a type 1!!
My insulin levels fluctuate between 55 and 70 units a day depending on my meals. My blood sugars seem to react to everything and is very hard to get done decent level of control.
NOW.... day 1 my total daily dose was 48!
Day 2 it was 41!
Day3 it was 32!!!
I have only two experiences of levels coming down drastically ... when poorly after a c section and I couldn't eat and when taking a certain antibiotic it dropped my insulin levels by a third in 7 days! On 2 occasions 2years running .
I don't have access to a nurse at the moment as I'm in the system but waiting my turn
I can email the drs secretary and hope I get a response soon.
At the moment I have slight nausea in the middle of the day but I'm ok.
What I'm concerned about is ozempic working too well. What is too low in my insulin daily totals?
The only guidance I have at the moment is a diabetic nurse telling me that 24 total daily units was too low and I'd get sick ( that was after the c section).
I'm still shocked. This is something I've wished for for years. That 2+2=4!!! It's actually working !

We all have to take the insulin we need, so it will be different for everyone. Too low a total daily dose is if you're experiencing lots of time above your target range.

Did the nurse explain why this was the case? What were your blood sugar levels like after your c-section? Were you having lots of high blood sugars or ketones? Did you increase your total daily insulin as the nurse told you to, and if so, what happened, did you have lots of hypo's etc?

Sorry for all the questions, but I don't understand the nurse saying this, if your blood sugar was ok. The trauma of the op, could well increase your insulin needs, but if you weren't eating then that would reduce your bolus insulin requirements I'd have thought.

I was feeling unwell and struggled to eat and so my insulin needs went right down. 10 days after the c section a wound infection appeared. Although it was all tested they said no bugs there. But yes I did explain all to the nurse and she said it was dangerous for me to be in 24 units of insulin a day.

In which case your insulin amounts were fine, no matter what the nurse said.

As already mentioned everyone is different, some may need 10 units a day, some may need 300, you need what you need, not what some other 'average' 'joe bloggs' needs

That's interesting to know thank you. I wonder what else they said was wrong too !
