Anybody else on this? My diabetic nurse just swapped me from Bydureon to this, both a weekly injection, but this is a newer medicine.

Thanks Guzzler.
I have been on Bydureon for the last three years but my DN decided to swap it for for ozempic.

My wife has started Ozempic a couple of months ago.
Her results have been very good.
She has gone from hba1c of 62, down to 47, in that time and improving.
Our surgery has done a trial of twenty five patients, like the wife, who because of other conditions have not had the best results with other meds.
Out of the 25, 23 have had significant improvements in their hba1c levels.
Other reports about Ozempic have been very encouraging, and not many side effects.

That does sound encouraging. My hba1c had gone down to the low 40's, but my recent blood test had it up to 70, hence the change of meds.

A dietary change would also help with control, have you reduced your carbs intake?

Oh yes, very much so. I have recently had an operation my shoulder, which my DN can also cause a temporary increase in my hba1c.

Most things do! Even a cold, man flu especially!
If you realise that if your meds help, well, so will dietary control.
It is this good control that can be so crucial in your treatment.

I have been on this medication from June until now. Now at full dose. Amazing results for glucose control and weight (down 3 stone). Was quite ill for a few weeks each time I increased the dose but it has passed now. I am occasionally sick the day after I inject if I eat anything too stodgy.

I've just finished my first 4 doses at 1/2 strength. I'm amazed at the difference it has made, I was previously on Bydureon, for about 18 mnths - 2 years. My symptoms had gradually returned, peeing a lot at night, drinking lots of water and napping after eating, but since switching to ozempic, they have subdued considerably. I'm even able to go a whole night without going to the loo!
