To be honest I haven't looked as I prefer the taste of most fresh soups - with the exception of Heinz tomato soup which I adoreHave you found any low carb soups in tins
rather than the chilled sort?
Cheers, I have only done them in the oven up until now but will try the microwave method. You could do a low carb fritatta, as that can be eaten hot or cold.
If your salami crisps don't snap and crunch, they need zapping a little longer.
The lowest I’ve found is Tesco cream of chicken soup, 1/2 a 400g tin is 5.6g carbsHave you found any low carb soups in tins

In the oven, lay the salami/chorizo slices on kitchen roll, to absorb the released fat. Give them just 30 seconds on your highest setting, then turn the slices over, and repeat the 30 seconds, but be very careful as the slices and run off fat will be extremely hot. From there, go for maybe 10-20 second increments and see how you get along.
My 1100w combi microwave takes about 90 seconds to read-to-eat-ness.
That they can be made on a whim, in under 2 minutes is a bonus and a curse. Hopefully, you'll find a timing that works for you. It's certainly better than paying over £2 a pack in M&S.
Quinoa is not low carb though.
What about us veggies?Pork scratchings are an acquired taste ... but my favourite snack nowadays is a variant called "Mr. Porky Crispy Strips." Tastes much better than traditional pork scratchings, I think. Carbohydrates per 20g serving 0.1g (it comes in 40g bags). Very salty, but that applies to all sorts of snacks, low-carb or not....
As good as crisps? Almost.
You might also consider nuts. They vary a lot in carb content, so it's worth checking first on the Diet Doctor site (https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/keto/nuts).
Does it not have a lot of sugar in it?To be honest I haven't looked as I prefer the taste of most fresh soups - with the exception of Heinz tomato soup which I adore
Quinoa is about 60 percent carbs, so not much lower.Ha, I didn't even think to check, I've used it as a substitute for pasta and rice and done well - but I guess that's down to how much lower it is than pasta /rice. Thanks for pointing that out. N
It is 27gm of carb per can, I think.Does it not have a lot of sugar in it?
A bit like porky Quavers lol@Guzzler try these ones (available at Asda, Sainsbury’s, Coop in single packs). Much more like crisps (I also miss them) than traditional pork scratchings.
@Jaz006 a bit like eating Frazzles.

Aw, wish you all the best for your cat!Hi everyone thanks for the ideas. I've not been on the site this week as unfortunately our cat has been poorly and in the vets. He had an operation today but it looks like cancer. Have to wait for the biopsy results.
Observation. I guess due to being upset and stressed and crying a lot I have felt quiet unusually dizzy and strange. Is this normal for diabetics? Can stress affect your blood sugar. I am not someone who normally tests it.
Have u tried the Pom bears crispsI am so with you on the Crisps front! Havn't found a low carb alternative yet that comes close but I continue my search.
Hello. I am a community worker doing home visits so its rare that I am in the office
So I need a combination of office food and food that I can eat when I'm the car. I am so missing crisps.
No, not heard of those. What are the carb value in them?Have u tried the Pom bears crisps
Reminds me must get my soup maker out of the cupboard.I make veggie soup from various bits I find in my fridge. Add plenty of garlic, several finger chillis and a couple of new spuds for bulk. Delicious, get a flask to put it in for lunch on the hoof.
Me too...I've been thinking about it, all last week, with the weather turning cooler.Reminds me must get my soup maker out of the cupboard.
