I have been browsing on this site and was saddened to see statins advised for all over 50 years old. A certain number of users will get horrendous muscular pain, as I do. This masked any chance I had of doing cancer breast testing - and I showed up positive at my last mammogram. So yet another nasty problem with these drugs.
I have had my treatments for early breast cancer. The amazing outcome is that something odd went on during my second anaesthesia . When I came round fully I was in excruciating pain and actually needed a week on a strong pain killer, but then my long standing statin pains left me and I enjoyed a WALKING holiday. BUT I then had a similar reaction to the long term medication to suppress the cancer, recognised the symptoms and gave them up. Made me think - is it the drug OR what the drug is carried in ???
