Panicking Over Recent Blood Test

Hi, I have just had my 6-month review last week. I always panic over this but this time I have access to my medical records on myGP, I stupidly had a look at my appointments just now and have seen that the test results were sent to my doctor and all it said under that bit was 'blood test/differential'

Now there's the test results on my medical records part but I'm already panicked enough now by seeing that they were sent to my doctor when the diabetic nurse generally calls me. I had my test on Thursday and they were apparently sent to my doctor on Friday if the myGP thing is right. I also have high anxiety issues all the time as well.

I don't want to look at my medical records part and have a full-blown panic attack. I had Covid in September last year, Covid pneumonia and secondary infection. I had a mini health check recently and my lungs (don't know if it was my technique or what) came back as 60 years old, I'm 40. I have recently in the past five months had the two Covid vaccines that I was scared about getting. I have also recently had a gum infection, my gums all went swollen below my bottom teeth, that has gone down a lot but it still hasn't gone down fully.

Last time I had my check my HbA1c was fine but my cholesterol levels were still apparently high.

I googled one-time 'blood test/differential' and saw the words white blood cells, and I went off google. I don't know if they've already done the white blood cell test or that notification on myGP next to my doctors name is to have one done. I wish I didn't have myGP at times like these. Now I'm so scared that there's something with my blood test, my heart is pounding and I'm thinking so many things.

Aren't all test results sent through to your doctor?
I'd think it's the doctor's records where the diabetes nurse gets the results from.

Might be worth seeing if you can unsubscribe or such, it sounds like the possibility to look before you're contacted with your results causes you a lot of anxiety. Wouldn't it be easier if you didn't have access?

Wish you all the best!

If you have access through internet, and your GP is on line, your doctor's website should have an appointment system like I have an e-consult application for appointments and advice.
I think you do need to get an appointment with your GP, to find out what is happening, with anxiety you over think the details, and make it worse than it actually is. Even if at first you talk over the phone.
I know, I suffer from anxiety and other issues with my brain. It is not easy to stop the anxiety, it is not easy to face your day to day stress. It is not easy to face up to what you have to do!
Because with anxiety, it is always worse than it actually is.
I have issues going out, shopping, meeting friends even family sometimes, I just want to go to my safe space and not bother with life it case it is worse than I imagined.
I'm working on it, taking baby steps to get me through the day.
With my GP, my counsellor, my family and friends, I am fighting to get me back and my confidence.
I wish you well and the best advice I have ever had, only you can solve this, it is your brain, but with help and encouragement, the anxiety will lessen. Talking is a great way to express your fears, talk to someone you can trust and be honest with.
Have you tried counselling or help with cognitive behavioural therapy?
