Good morning,
To cut a long story short I've been taking paracetamol several times a day since surgery but have been weening myself off it recently. What I've noticed is that if I take two paracetamol 500mg at bedtime then my morning BG is 1.5-2 points lower than if I don't. I've been experimenting and it seems consistent and reproducible. My assumption is that the paracetamol is interrupting the liver's production of glucose a bit like alcohol, I know that the liver is involved in ridding the body of the drug. I just wondered if anyone else experiences the same or has any thoughts please?

Having been told that my only recourse to pain meds is paracetamol, I think it all depends on how much you are taking.
It is well known that too much paracetamol interrupts normal endocrine functions. Especially the kidneys and liver.
So it wouldn't surprise me.
I advise you to have a word with your GP.
But be careful with an alternative as most do have an effect on blood glucose levels as well.
Then it becomes a personal choice on the decision to live with higher blood glucose levels or pain!

Best wishes
