Is there a link between having PCOS and becoming type 2 diabetic?

Looking back, I have had PCOS for over 40 years, but only formally diagnosed with it about 5 years ago, when one of my daughters was diagnosed with it and we realised her symptoms and mine were the same.

From everything I have read I would answer yes.
I was diagnosed years ago with PCOS. And didn’t realize that one symptoms is insulin resistance.

I think T2 diabetes and PCOS are both linked with metabolic syndrome

The only stat that has stuck in my mind is that 50% of PCOSers become T2 by the age of 50.
Due to their increased insulin resistance leading to metabolic syndrome and weight gain, and related issues.
Presumably that % increases as PCOSers grow older...

I’ve been quoting that stat for so long I can no longer remember where i came across it.
Therefore i can no longer vouch for its veracity.
Sorry.

May be worth pointing out that the general population has (currently) a heck of a lot lower % of T2s than 50% at age 50. Although numbers are increasing.
