Guys,

An observation as we approach Christmastide....
I havent logged on here for some time, but have returned here as this is where I gained the knowledge I required to gain control over my chronic disease and for that I am forever grateful. I am becoming completely disillusioned at the level of political, personal, egotistic, over my head technicalities etc etc that seems to be undermining the sociability and camaradery on ALL of the major diabetes support forums.
Today I went along for my 6 months review, I have put a small amount of weight on and my cholesterol has crept up from 3.5 to 4, however my HBA1C is 5.4% and my BP is 120/70 and all without medication. My diabetic nurse told me that this week my results co-incided with the practice's diabetes review and that their chief diabetes gp stated that out of 405 diabetics on their books, I am their star performer.
So maybe people know better than me, maybe people are more learned than me, maybe people dont agree with my methods, but surely I am doing something right. I really want to share my experiences with a fraternal community, but am not sure that such a community exists any more.

All the best - Steve

Hi Steve.
Nice to see you back here.....hope it's not just a flying visit ? Great to hear you are still doing well.

As for the Politics.....we try and stay out of it whenever we can but sometimes it rears it's head. Human nature I suppose. We concentrate on just trying to help our fellow Diabetics of whatever persuasion get good control of their Diabetes........however they achieve it. We are just glad to know that people get good results and we hope they will support us and fellow Members whenever it's needed. That's what this Community is all about.

Best wishes to you and enjoy the coming festive season........ :D

Ken.

Right on, Steve! Good to see some of the old faces trickling back.

Peace, Love & lo-carb stuffing.
